Chances are you've encountered at least one of the Office applications, whether that's Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. Microsoft's productivity software, Office, has been the gold standard for almost 26 years. I'll also give you guidance on which service is right for your needs and your wallet. I won't dive too deep into how each program works, but instead point out the important features you should know about from each productivity suite. A script for Windows would be similar, but I do not offer to create a script for Windows since I have no way to test it. This is a script which I've tested on my Mac which opens the bogus "Word" document. If not, you can just use a text editor, for example, Writer, or Notepad, or Wordpad. If you are a programmer, you can create a simple script to remove the garbage. If you remove the garbage before and after then save the file with the html extension, you can open it in your web browser. Word has been designed to open various bogus doc files but OpenOffice has not. The "document" that Confluence has created is a simple text file with a bogus "doc" extension. Have anyone have any pointers to workaround this? The document open fine, but display in marked up language instead of rendering it as if it is in MS Word.
